Therapeutic Approach/What to expect:
Through several years of experience in both residential treatment and community mental health treatment settings, Jackson has developed his ability to implement therapeutic techniques to meet the needs of children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. Primarily, the approaches to therapy utilized by Jackson are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (to explore thoughts and feelings as the influence behavior and identify more helpful thoughts/behavior) and Solution-focused Therapy (to identify strengths of the individual and potential problem solving skills that may be utilized in order to improve coping with current life stressors).
Each client is the expert of their life and during the first couple sessions, Jackson will seek to collect information to better understand current stressors as well as historical information that may also play a role in the reason for seeking therapy services. From this information, goals will be developed in order to develop a plan to improve emotional and relational wellbeing, as well as develop skills to become their own expert in problem solving potential concerns they may face in the future.
Jackson and his wife have two children who keep life vibrant and entertaining. Jackson and his family enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as being actively involved within their church. Jackson also enjoys engaging in exercise and sporting activities as a spectator and as well as a participant.
